The people we meet.....

We've met some wonderful people during our time with koolaman designs. We often wonder where we'd be if we weren't working with some of the most beautiful silver jewellery and making something so sweet and personal for our clients.

two ISOBEL pendants on an extra large ball chain

Among the delightful people we've met along our journey is the gorgeous Kristy from Sisken... this graphic designer turned bag fashionista creates the most beautiful leather bags for every purpose in colours that you'll be drooling over.  We were very excited when Kristy asked us earlier in the year if she could use some koolaman designs in the photo shoot for her latest look book. We were even more excited when we saw the results of her hard work. These bags are a must have in any girls wardrobe... And except for a piece from from koolaman designs, these would have to be the perfect christmas present.

Montgomery tote and the koolaman FINN pendant
Pictured here is the Sisken, Large Montgomery tote $349 which has a convenient cross body strap, perfect for the times when you need a free hand, I love it when I've got my toddler on my hip and my pre-schooler holding my other hand. Model is wearing the sterling silver hand stamped  FINN pendant on the 80cm large ball chain.

Sisken Bronte Clutch with the koolaman Stella pendant
And here is the Bronte Clutch Bag $220 which is a secure zip around clutch bag with a detachable strap. And the gorgoeus model is wearing the hand stamped sterling silver STELLA pendant on the 80cm large ball chain from koolaman designs.
The SISKEN bags are available in 9 colours including espresso, milk, licorice, stone, cherry, honey, blueberry, pomegranate and plum. With names this delicious you may even need two!

And Kristy is going to be giving away one of her very special Tarlee tote in Milk ($299). All you need to do is pop on over to the SISKEN site and select your favourite SISKEN item and then tell us which one and why in the comments box. Giveaway is open to Aussie residents only and closes at 8pm on Friday 15th October. Winner drawn at random. One entry per person please. If you don't have a Google ID just leave it as anonymous and your contact details.

  3. The Montgomery Tote - in Red!

With my youngest turning 3, we're ready to ditch the pram and the nappy bag! Unfortunately my dream of travelling unencumbered has proven false, still needing to carry around large quantities of supplies (wipes, spare undies, water bottles...) for my daughters. The Montgomery Tote looks fabulous, the strap is versatile, and nobody needs to know what I would be carrying around inside!

  5. Tough Call - I'd be happy to own ANY of them, but:

Bronte Clutch Bag would be my choice.

Since having my first baby i seem to lose EVERYTHING ... keys ... and phone ... and brain!!
This bag would keep all my nessesities neatly together to just "GRAB" as we make the made dash out the door everyday.
    Fantastic.

  10. Oh Wow, I have never seen this range of bags before. Gorgeous SISKEN!

It's a tough choice between Chennai Shoulder Bag, Savannah Handbag and Tuscan Overnighter.

Just for something different I will choose the Tuscan Overnighter. Gotta look good when travelling, or just having an overnighter with the girls :)

  11. Luxembourg Satchel in red. Why? 3 children so I need to be hands-free and carry all the things a mum needs, but still be able to reach all 3 (especially a two year old with a fondness for running in shopping centres). Like many other mums, I've made lots of sacrifices, so it would be nice to have something with style that is practical, rather than only practical.

  12. Ohh what stunning bags! I now know I need a chocolate San Remo Satchel ! This satchel bag would be perfect for work and play. The perfect accessory for me to maintain my professionalism at work, but super stylish enough to take with me to dinner. Now that I have seen this bag, I feel the need to toss out my current tatty vinyl satchel as it just doesn't compare!

I know its in the Mens range but I love the San Remo Satchel. It looks casual enough when wearing blue jeans and a blazer, but also classy enough for work.

  18. These bags look sensational, not only are they stylish but they look ever so practical. Now that I don't need to be carrying around bottles, nappies and other toddler items, I am free to carry around something that I'd like for me. The Savannah in Honey would be my choice. A great handbag for everyday, great size for my essentials and ok every now and then maybe the husband's keys, wallet and sunnies :)

  22. The Montgomery Tote is just divine, it is so hard to find a large bag that doesn't look like an o/nighter...... plus having one strap is perfect...trying to keep two straps on your shoulder whilst dealing with young children drives me insane! I also love the fact that it can go across the body, having a free hand or two is a fabulous idea.
    Beautiful bags ladies.

  23. How good does your jewellery look when teamed with Kristy's gorgeous bags. They were made for each other. I absolutely love the Savannah handbag. The leathers look so soft and the style would compliment day or night, weekends, holidays, beach and work. Your jewellery is so clean and uncomplicated in this age of bling and baubles. Just love it. 26. Definately the San Remo Satchel, gorgeous color and a great size for all the roles one has to play as mum, student, worker. With four children this bag would have to be one that is the most versatile for adapting to each role I have, whilst looking great for all of them. It is so nice to see gorgeous bags that will fit lap tops but don't look like a boring laptop bag. Fantastic (love the shoes too)

I travel to Melbourne a lot with two kids (18 mths & 5)for Hospital visits and need a bag that holds everthing we need for the day so I can have my hands free - from carrying my young one on the plane to easily finding their medication at mealtimes. It is such a beautiful bag but is uncomplicated at the same time! Love it Love it Love it!

My vintage-loving retro side covets the San Francisco shoulder bag in cherry for its art deco fabulousness, but the realist in me knows I'd need the perfectly formed Savannah in stone for all its handy pockets and delicious curves.

  30. I am in love with my Kirov Ballet Slippers by Sisken. Bought them at Magnolia Square Malvern and wear them every day since. Perfect to dress up or wear casual and when caring my 9 month baby I don’t have to worry about the ground like I did in my heels. Oh so comfortable too.

  31. oo.. it's not easy. i love the tarlee tote & it's probably the best choice for me at the mo to fit normal handbag stuff plus a few nappies & a wipes case for outings with my 2 little people, but i think my absolute favourite is the san francisco shoulder bag.. i just love the 3 petal design (that's what i'm calling it anyway). it has a gorgeous vintage feel to it.

  32. Congratulations to Kristy for creating these beautiful and gorgeous bags.

My favourite bag is the St Lucia bag as it is a simple everyday bag which a mother of 2 anklebiters will appreciate. As a mother, we do not have time to fiddle or scrum around a very big bag looking for the car keys or a dummy that may well be at the bottom of the big heap of a bag.

Those pockets on the outside will make life easier and convenient for a parent who especially can't take their eyes of the kids (if they are in a carpark or shopping centre)

I would choose black as the colour as it will hide those grubby little dirty finger marks well.

Good luck to all the entrants. :)

For me it would be the tuscan overnighter - I always have bags for my boys, and my husband has his backpack but I have never managed to get a bag for myself! Would be very handy and make you feel just a little bit 'posh' as well!

  35. Oh wow, what a beautiful range of leather products and the handbags are all a girls dream :)
After 3 kids and 9 years of nappy bags and back packs, I am loving the look of the St Lucia bag...beautiful, elegant, modern and stylish...everything a girl looks for in a hndbag...and one to definitely get people talking (like my Mia Koolaman pendant). I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what you talented ladies are doing with women's fashion accessories.

  36. Love the Santorini Satchel. Simple, Stylish and practical....I wear loads of corporate black so the fun 'cherry' colour would be a striking standout, sure to gain comments from admirers. On weekends can throw a couple of nappies in and wipes if dashing out and about to the shops with the kids.

  37. What a fantastic giveaway and such a stunning range of every occasion bags. I love them all but my favourite has to be the San Remo Satchel in Chocolate. Being a mum of 3 boys this would be ideal as I always have a collection of matchie cars, thomas trains or rubber bugs within my handbag and this would be perfect size wise and also so I have my hands free. Thanks and love your site Katrina Dunn
